Epic Update: ‘Hispanic or Latino’ Being Added as Race Category Option
In order to allow our patients and their caregivers to best be able to represent themselves and in alignment with US Census OMB's Race/Ethnicity Standards, "Hispanic or Latino" will be added as a race category option in Epic effective April 1. Staff responsible for entering patient race information will have this option available, and it will be reflected across all areas of Epic where patient race is displayed.

Last Day for Primary Care, Mental Health Appointments with CareATC
As a reminder, March 26 is the last day for primary care and mental health appointments at Care ATC- Henderson. Between March 30- April 3, the Henderson clinic will be closed to complete final transition details to Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG).

Retirement Announcement
Lori Oelschlager, Lead System Integration Engineer, is retiring from Cook Children’s Health Care System after more than 45 years of service on April 2.
Lori’s journey started as a nursing student with transitioning to RN support on the inpatient floors after school. Lori moved to the Information Systems department working in multiple technical roles involving the planning, designing and support for many different applications. Lori is champion of optimization and change. Over her career, Lori has seen first-hand the transition of paper workflows to complete electronic data documentation and exchange in the clinical and other workplaces.
