Cook Children’s is kicking off a communications initiative to keep you informed about compensation topics, including pay. We’re introducing a Connect Newsletter series called Compensation Corner, designed to keep you updated. The Compensation team in Human Resources wants all employees and leaders to understand the why and how behind pay decisions at Cook Children’s. They’re working to earn your trust. “We’re connecting the dots between performance and rewards, engaging our leaders, taking a strategic approach, utilizing data to help leaders make informed decisions and leveraging technology to develop solutions,” said Anniese Lemond, AVP for Compensation.  Cook Children's Names Great 10 and DAISY Nurse Leader Award Recipients

With 80 nominations for the Great 10 Nurses award and a record-breaking number of nomination letters (more than 100), our nursing professionals exemplify high-quality professionalism and expert care to our patients.  All Things World Cup on CookNet
Ahead of the big soccer tournament coming to the Metroplex, Environmental Safety and Emergency Management have created a one-stop shop of resources for employees all about the World Cup. A direct link to this 2026 World Cup CookNet site will be at the top of the CookNet homepage until the end of the tournament. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It features 48 teams, 104 matches, and 16 stadiums spread across North America. The first match at Dallas Stadium (the temporary name for AT&T Stadium in Arlington) is on June 14. The website includes details for clinicians on international diseases, as well as cultural resources, how to access to language interpreters and how to sign up for Cook Children's emergency alerts. Check back frequently for the latest news and updates as we count down to kickoff. |

Cook Children's is implementing a program to help manage our contract workers more efficiently. We’ve partnered with RightSourcing, a contingent workforce management firm, to manage hiring, timecards, payroll, and other services for contractors and temporary workers. This new process will be phased in, with the first update happening this month. Starting on May 17, managers will request any new contingent workers using Magnit VMS, RightSourcing’s web-based tool for requisitions, time and expense reporting, and approvals. By transitioning to this new process, we aim to automate the hiring process to reduce manual data entry and paperwork, cutting out extra steps so you can get your work done faster. If you are a manager who has a contingent worker, two virtual training sessions are scheduled in May to provide an overview of RightSourcing and Magnit VMS. These trainings will be virtual 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 13 and 10 a.m., Thursday, May 14. Click here to read more about this change and sign up for training. |

 Retirements
Join us in congratulating staff members who are retiring from Cook Children's this month: - Diane Taylor, Registered Nurse for Surgery-IP/OP, has retired after more than 29 years of service on May 4.
- Morris Foster, ACT - Vascular Access, is retiring after 22 years of service on May 12.
- Jeannie Parsley, Unit Secretary for the Fort Worth Emergency Department, is retiring after more than 25 years of service on May 14.
- Alison Coombs, Registered Nurse for SPA-Recovery, is retiring after more than 24 years of service on May 29.
- Joann Sanders, M.D., Chief Quality Officer, is retiring on June 1. Please join us from 2-4 p.m. on May 21, in the Rosedale Office Building on the 5th floor, Rooms 5405 A&B for a retirement celebration.
