What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? Not everyone is like you, accept the limitations and build on the strengths. We fit together as a whole! |
Shayla Grelle Physician Liasion, Business Development | Fun Fact: I recorded a record when I was 12 years old titled the Albino Turtle. The song was about pollution and keeping the world clean. What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? Cook Children’s Promise says it all… That every child’s life is sacred. The culture of Cook Children’s is always to put these children first and one of respect, humility, empathy and care for not only the child but each other as well. Cook’s culture strives to provide the best care possible to all children and each other! |
Julie Jolley RN, Cook Children's Pediatric Specialties Midland | Fun Fact: I just had twin grandbabies born on 9/21 - a boy and a girl! What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? What makes Cook Children’s unique is the trust and relationships that are built between co-workers, physicians, families and patients. Because of the trust and respect that each employee has for each other we are truly able to provide the best care to our patients. And that no matter what facility they are in it is the same across the board. Everyone I have encountered within our system is always willing to go above and beyond. |
Henry Rodriguez Medical Delivery/Service Tech, Home Health | Fun Fact: I am a sports fanatic. My favorite teams are the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Chicago Cubs. The Cook Children’s culture is unique because we are all as one, a team, a community that works with each other with the same goal in mind, to make our patients smile and know that we are here for them and their healthcare needs. |
Joel Murray Custom Mobility Tech, Home Health | Fun Fact: I sometimes play acoustic sets around town! What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? I think our culture is unique because I can not think of another job/culture that makes you feel as good as you do when you can help out a kiddo or family improve their quality of life. I feel great after we get a kiddo their custom mobility equipment and you can see the kid light up and the parents have a huge appreciation for what their child just received. |

Henry Burgos Guest Relations Specialist, Family Services | Fun Fact: As a child, I attended a New York Yankees game when Roger Maris hit his 61st home run on October 1, 1961. What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? We strive to create a solution-oriented culture. Solution-oriented is a description used to describe a person who finds solutions to problems. Rather than dwelling on dilemmas faced in the workplace, a person who is solution-oriented takes an active approach in solving them. |
Dana Walraven Community Health Outreach Manager, The Center for Children's Health | Fun Fact: – I have an ancestor, Dr. Benjamin Rush, who signed the Declaration of Independence. What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? Longevity – After 23 years of working at Cook Children’s, I can still walk around our growing system and see employees who have been here as long as I have… and it’s like an instant reconnect with family. |
Lesley Wager Epic Digital Products Manager, IS/Epic | Fun Fact: I do leather working and tooling as a hobby and have been known to take costumes a little too far. What do you think makes Cook Children's culture unique? Everyone at Cook Children's is really doing it for the kiddos. It sounds like a cliche, but it's true! It helps us go the extra mile and it helps us get through moments of burnout. It's why we love what we do. |

All of us have our own unique moment we have experienced at Cook Children’s that let us know we are in the right place, whether as an employee caring for our patients or as a parent looking for child-centered care, this really is the best place to be. |
