Get Training to Learn the New P&D ProgramInstructor-led training is coming soon to help you navigate the big changes ahead for Performance & Development (P&D) at Cook Children’s. With PACE discontinued, our approach to employee reviews, job coaching, career growth and more will look different with the transition to Workday. Implementing any new program comes with a learning curve. That’s why training is required. Hopefully you’ve completed the on-demand training focused on FY24 Year End activities and are already using the Workday platform. We’re in the Peer Feedback phase, which runs July 15 – Aug. 26. If you haven’t, access it here. Now, you can sign up for instructor-led training that covers more of the P&D functionality, including FY25 activities such as career growth planning, setting and revising goals, and mid-year check-ins. Dates for training sessions are based on your role. Here’s the timeframe for training opportunities:
Training is divided into two parts. You’ll need to complete Part 1 before moving on to Part 2. Each part is 90 minutes. There are opportunities to attend in-person as well as virtual –the important thing is to get training. We want our transition to the new system to be a positive and engaging experience. (Physicians and teachers are not moving to the new platform and are not required to complete the training). “These are significant changes for our employees, and we appreciate everyone making the training a priority to help ensure a smooth changeover,” said Merridth Simpson, AVP Human Resources Operations. “We designed the training to be instructive and worth your time so that we all understand and embrace the new and improved platform.” Use the links below to sign up in ULearn. This overhaul of P&D has been several years in the making. It was designed in response to the input we heard in listening sessions with leaders and employees. And it aligns with our Cook Children’s culture and values of respect and collaboration. “Whether you’re a new hire or longtime employee at Cook Children’s, it’s important to receive training. Getting everyone up-to-speed is an important stepping stone for the success of our new approach to P&D,” Merridth said. “Thank you for your teamwork and dedication to our patients and one another.” Email your questions to AskHRIS@cookchildrens.org.
