Connect Newsletter (Jan. 27, 2022)
Connect Newsletter |
In an effort to provide timely, accurate and useful information to employees that you can access anywhere, we’ve created “Connect Newsroom” with you in mind. The newsroom houses most of the stories you find in the emails that are sent to you, including our most-recent COVID-19 information. Connect Newsroom also allows you to access the articles at home without logging onto the network and to watch videos or read information at your leisure. Learn more about Connect Newsroom here. We would love to hear your feedback on this new communications feature for employees! Write to us here, leave a comment on the article or answer the poll on the home page of the newsroom. |
Giving is one of Cook Children’s pillars and it's that time again to start thinking about Employees Care. For more than 20 years, Employees Care has become a reliable source of selfless giving with our employees at the center, making an impact in the lives of our patients and families in very unique ways. “I think it is important for employees to participate in Employees Care because it reminds us that every child is someone’s whole world," said Michelle Skillin, senior secretary for Security at Cook Children’s. This year, Employees Care will kick off Tuesday, Feb. 1. We encourage all of you to visit our page on CookNet* to learn more about this year’s initiative. Give today for their tomorrows. *Note: You must be connected to the network to access this page. |
At least eight counterfeit car seats have been found at local hospitals in recent months, including one spotted in our NICU. The parents had no idea their brand new seat was not safe to use. In response to the eight “fake” car seats found, we published this video and article on Checkup Newsroom to help educate the community. Please watch, read and share with anyone you know purchasing a car seat to help ensure their child will be protected in a crash. |
It's rodeo season in Fort Worth y'all! The 8th Annual Cook Children's Day at the Rodeo is Wednesday, Feb. 2. Half of the cost of your tickets to the 7:30 p.m. show will benefit Cook Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Click here for more information and to purchase your tickets. We're also celebrating across Cook Children's locations with our Western Day! You’re encouraged to dress up in your favorite boots, blue jeans and bandanas. Have fun, but remember to dress appropriately for our little buckaroos. Can't make it to the rodeo next Wednesday? You can still support our NICU by purchasing your 2022 Cook Children's Day at the Rodeo T-shirt inside the Build-A-Bear Workshop in our medical center. Don't forget to send us your photos from Western Day or the rodeo! |
