Everything for the Child: Cook Children’s Culture Platform
By now, you’ve seen our Cook Children’s culture platform. (Missed it? Click HERE to check out the platform and video!) The platform shows what makes our Cook Children’s culture unique—and gives us guidance in how to live it each and every day.
As a reminder, we hope this infographic helps truly define who we are and helps explain to your neighbors, friends and family why we are so proud to be a part of the Cook Children's family. Did you save the date in your calendar yet? Only 26 days until we connect the dots on November 1!
Magnet Month Awards: Nurse Leadership Team of the Year and Innovation Award
Last year, Cook Children's Medical Center became the first freestanding children’s hospital in North Texas and 10th in the world to receive Magnet® designation from the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). To continue celebrating this amazing achievement, The Cook Children's Magnet Committee would like to recognize some of the deserving individuals who represent the model components of Magnet.

From opening the Prosper Medical Center, to the Dodson Expansion and all construction projects in between, we want every employee to be able to stay updated with ongoing projects.
At Cook Children’s, we strive to provide the very best for our patients, families and business partners. Our system is expanding with new services and locations to offer even more advanced care to our communities and it is our team's mission to create world-class spaces. Cook Children's facilities are second to none and we continuously bring a unique approach and attitude to the quality and excellence in our projects.
Cook Children’s contracts with CareATC as an employee benefit offering affordable primary care, convenient locations and prompt scheduling. There are five locations in the North Texas area, including one near Cook Children’s Medical Center.
Employees at Cook Children’s can also take advantage of free counseling sessions available through the Employee Assistance Program. Benefits include six sessions per incident, per calendar year for employees, their adult dependents and minor children.
Save the Date! Cook Children's Family Day at Six Flags Over Texas
We are so excited to announce Cook Children's Family Day at Six Flags Over Texas! Join us from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, for a day of family, fun, food and thrills.
This is a special private event and the park is open only to Cook Children's and two other companies. That means less wait times for all your favorite rides and shows!
Beginning next week, employees will be able to purchase up to six discounted tickets for themselves, their spouse or significant other, and immediate family members. Additional tickets are available for families with more than six immediate family members and to order those, please contact Amy.Smith@cookchildrens.org.
*Children 2 and under are free and do not need an admission ticket!*
*If you have a Six Flags Season Pass, you’ll need to show your Cook Children’s identification badge at the gate. Any family member attending with you that has a season pass must be at the gate with you for you to show your badge for admission.
Your special event ticket is $21.65 per person ($20 per ticket + $1.65 tax) and includes admission and parking (normally valued at $124.99 per person). A variety of food and beverages will be available to purchase that day throughout the park.
Tickets go on sale next week and instructions to purchase will be posted on the CookNet scroll!
