Please Complete Your Flu Vaccine Consent Forms

This week, the first of several on-campus flu vaccination clinics for employees kicked off; however, our Occupational Health team has not received many flu consent forms. 

Whether you receive your flu shot in your department or at one of our flu clinics, you must complete a consent form! To sign the consent form electronically through Lawson, follow these steps:

• Scroll down on the left navigation bar and click on “Employee Self Service”
• Then click “Human Resources”
• Then click “Occ Health Portal”
• Then click on “Forms” at the top of the page and click on “Influenza Vaccine Consent” to complete your form

Raising Joy Podcast: Save the Date!

You and a guest are invited to join us for the first live recording of the Raising Joy podcast at the historic Downtown Cowtown at the Isis Theater in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

This event, which is being hosted in partnership with The Center for Children’s Health led by Cook Children's, will bring mental health leaders in the community together to hear an inspiring talk by author and renowned speaker Andrew Solomon, Ph.D. Solomon is a Pulitzer Prize finalist, National Book Award winner, TedTalk presenter, as well as a professor of Clinical Psychology at Columbia University.

Raising Joy Live will be hosted by Kristen Pyrc, M.D., and Wini King.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The program will begin promptly at 7 p.m.

Complimentary valet parking will be available.

Registration is required to attend.

Cook Children's Drafts Four Students From Cristo Rey

Last month, Cristo Rey Fort Worth High School kicked off its 2022-23 school year with an NFL-style “Draft Day” matching up students with the  businesses they will work for as part of the school's innovative work-study program.

Cook Children's picked up four students in this year's draft, including Alejandra Hiriarte who is returning for her second year. The other students include Mariana Salazar, Valentine Avila and Regina Olmos. As part of the work-study program at Cristo Rey, these outstanding students will work at Cook Children's one day each week during their high school career. 

“Our group this year have been super excited and they just jumped in and brought in a whole new energy level to the department,” said Suzanne Seizer, director of Talent Acquisition.
