At 11 a.m. at the circle drive ( right in front of the Medical Center) We’ll come together as a connected system to celebrate something we’ve been hard at work developing over the last few years: our culture platform. This was the event originally scheduled for Nov. 1, but we decided we couldn’t wait and wanted to get the party started. At 2 p.m. at the same location is the return of Halloween Hoopla! Pandemic Spurs New Infectious Disease Unit at Cook Children’s
The expansion ensures children with highly infectious diseases will be treated in the safest environment possible. The unit’s design and technology allow for the treatment of the sickest patients while also protecting our staff and the community from the spread of illness. “I work for a system that pursues whatever is needed to improve a child’s health or save a child’s life,” said Mary Suzanne Whitworth, M.D., medical director of infectious diseases at Cook Children’s. “This new infectious diseases CCU is that next great opportunity and we are all thrilled to be a part of it.” |

Cook Children's Employee Hand Hygiene Video Competition
After reviewing more than 80 hand hygiene articles the NEBPR Council has confirmed that mitigating hospital-acquired infections is in your hands, and one of the best ways to increase staff engagement and compliance is by challenging you to keep our patients safe by getting back to the basics. You can help us raise awareness about hand hygiene by creating a fun video that demonstrates how to utilize the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene!
